Our mission
By documenting our work on tropical coral reefs, temperate kelp forests and seagrass beds, we are are able to immerse community members into these ecosystems and foster a connection with what lies beyond the coastline. Importantly, we aim to inspire the younger generation to become future marine scientists and restoration practitioners.
Our approach
Under the Blue Line pairs underwater virtual reality with tactile learning experiences to bring everyone beneath the surface, removing common barriers to ocean connection. Access to the ocean and to the marine sciences remains a privilege. This limits who imagines a future in marine sciences and who feels connected to the health of their local waters. Through immersive education we aim to break down this ceiling on imaginative capacity, and progress towards a future of inclusion in ocean sciences and ocean community.
